Let me start off by saying, I am an extra average RC enthusiast. That means I don't play with ridiculously expensive, 4 to 6s $1500 RC's. I have a boatload of what I would consider "Extra Meduim" cars and trucks.
I have to say overall, DEERC is absolutely one of my favorite brands and for a very specific reason. They have RC cars for exactly what I shop for. Good, heavy duty, but still fun RCs with kids in mind. I would panic if my children demolished a $900 Traxxas build or whatnot, but DEERC comes in clutch with mid tier hobby/toys without completely breaking the bank with trucks that I wouldn't cry if they got destroyed.
This truck fits right in our RC family, with a reasonable price range (Currently roughly $100 with coupons but I expect this to eventually be below $90) and a durable, fun and all out rowdy experience.
This is a 1/14 scale, but I would almost put it to 1/16 (see comparison to the gold truck that is also a DEERC 003E 1/14 scale) but it does have the same size tires, which allows it to rip about 3 inch grass without too much trouble, especially with the given four wheel drive.
This truck is absolutely bonkers, even on 2s (7.4v). It will literally almost flip over backwards with power. I really like cars this size as they're not too huge for young ones but not so small they can't handle grass.
This thing is also supposedly 3s capable! I can't even imagine it not literally exploding the tires on 3s.
It has heavy durable plastics for the body and chassis, metal dogbones, and some really cool chassis and roof lights that are adjustable, color and flashing.
This truck runs right with the 003E speed wise and absolutely smokes the 9207E ("1/10" pink one).
The only negative I think of that even given its 3s capable, and it does have a deans cord, is that it might take a certain size battery to fit in the clamp. That is better than the special battery requirement on the 9207E. That while having a deans connecter, doesn't have a cord, just a prong sticking out so you couldn't really upgrade the battery. This one still probably could receive an upgrade, it would just take a specific size. And also I really like the charge status indicator on each battery. There is a button to press that shows state of charge via red lights.
Overall, I love the insane speed, lights, reasonable durability and fancy remote along with a 3s option. It's a hair smaller than a 1/14 and might be a little specific if upgrading to 3s battery. But it fits right in with DEERC vehicles in my opinion and makes a wonderful addition to my families RC collection!
